Criminal Rehabilitation is a process that if successful, erases your criminal history for the purpose of travel to Canada. Individuals with Criminal Rehabilitation can travel to Canada indiscriminately, regardless of the nature of the trip. Criminal Rehabilitation is granted when the immigration officer believes that the individual has truly been rehabilitated, and is no longer a threat to Canadian society. For this reason, at least five years must have passed since the completion of sentencing for all convictions. Events supporting an individual’s rehabilitation include educational achievements, employment stability, community service, establishing a family, home ownership, and other life accomplishments.
